This case was sent to me by one of the graduates of the course on laser PMU and tattoo removal. She faced a difficult situation – the client had 6 permanent makeup application procedures and 4 PMU laser removal procedures using a neodymium laser. The process of skin cleansing does not progress earlier and she asks what laser can achieve a good result in such a situation.
Indeed this color of permanent eyebrow makeup is not removed by neodymium laser because the green color of pigment practically does not absorb wavelengths of 1064 and 532 nanometers (these are the wavelengths of neodymium Q-switch laser for PMU and tattoo removal).
The reason why the eyebrow PMU turned such a green color can be several. One reason is the presence of green chromium oxide as a component of olive-colored ink, which some PMU masters use to correct the red color of old permanent makeup instead of removing it with a laser. Another reason could be the attempt to correct permanent eyebrow makeup with flesh-colored permanent makeup or the presence of a large amount of titanium dioxide in the composition of the inks used by the PMU artist. After several sessions of laser exposure, titanium dioxide could undergo a paradoxical blackening and eventually turn into a green color!
What to do.
Neodymium laser to continue trying to remove such a color of permanent eyebrow makeup is almost pointless! There will be no effects or they will be completely negligible because of the virtually zero absorption of green color wavelengths 1064 and 532 nm neodymium laser for tattoo removal.

In order to successfully remove such green-colored permanent eyebrow makeup you need a wavelength of 755 nm alexandrite nanosecond or picosecond laser. You can still use the 694 nm wavelength of a ruby nanosecond laser. However, practice shows that the 755 nm wavelength of the PicoSure picosecond laser shows the best results when removing such green shades of permanent makeup. The reason for this is that the absorption spectrum of green pigments includes exactly the 755nm wavelength and as a result, it is possible to achieve good destruction of pigments of such colors.

Here are examples of removing such green permanent eyebrow makeup residues from my graduate https://www.instagram.com/cederman.clinic who has successfully dealt with such green residues using the original CynoSure PicoSure picosecond alexandrite laser.
